Launch an AZ Learning Community!

As home educators we love our freedom and independence, but nothing replaces close friends and people with whom you can "do life" and share common experiences.

At AZ Learning Communities we believe in the power of local communities creating a hub for homeschoolers, parents, and families. What works in one city may not work in another, which is why we hire local site leaders and instructors to run each Learning Community.

Imagine creating a safe space where students can come to socialize and learn each week and then join local field trips and statewide field trips throughout the month. We consider it an "elevated co-op" as parents can drop off their kids to well-paid instructors who are providing high-quality enrichment classes and hold high character expectations for all students.

Read below to find out some of the steps to launching a AZ Learning Community in your city/town!

01

People

  • Gather an Enrichment Team for a 1-day a week In-Person program

    • Site Leader

    • Class Instructors (usually at least 3. We have a long list of possible classes including but not limited to: Spanish, coding, Lego Robotics, art, functional crafting, cooking, MMA, etc.)

  • Gather students (currently enrolling students grades K-8 but open to adding high school if there is a community need)

02

Place

  • Consider where you'll meet. Multiple classrooms are ideal. Only 1 day is needed In-Person.

  • AZ Learning Communities is happy to help you in this endeavor but you know your area best so your feedback is important.

Roles

  • Determine if you or someone else can take on the following paid roles:

    • Site Leader: Manages In-Person Enrichment Program

    • Conference Planner: Helps plan a local AZ Learning homeschool conference once a year

    • Event Planner: Plan and organize local field trips, meet-ups, and holiday parties. AZ Learning Communities plans 2 bigger statewide field trips a semester for all students in our Learning Communities.

04

Resources

  • The AZ Learning Community team is with you every step of the way.

  • We help you: market, enroll students, onboard families, collect tuition, pay instructors, send invoices, train staff, and much more.

  • We understand that many homeschooling moms have done these roles for many years for free but we believe in paying people for their efforts and providing families with high quality, sustainable programs that truly help make homeschooling easier and more enjoyable for families!
